What This Means for Hiring
This is where things start to get a little uncomfortable for companies. Because a lot of hiring processes haven’t really caught up to this shift yet.
If a role is mostly built around repetition, process, and predictability, AI is already starting to compete with it. Not in some dramatic way, but enough that it changes how valuable that role is.
At the same time, the roles that are becoming more important are the ones that require:
- Ownership
- Decision-making
- Cross-functional thinking
The tricky part is… those aren’t the easiest things to spot on a resume.
So, what’s happening is a bit of a disconnect. Companies are still screening for tasks and keywords, while the actual job is shifting more toward judgment, context, and how someone thinks.
And that’s why a lot of hiring processes are starting to feel a little off right now.
