Overview
Our client, a large financial technology enterprise with over 35,000 employees, was operating on outdated software that carried significant code vulnerabilities and no longer ran reliably in production. Years without regular updates had left the applications weighed down by technical debt, creating real operational and security risk.
The client engaged Theoris to modernize these applications, reduce that risk, and establish a more reliable, maintainable foundation to support their compliance requirements.
The project focused on modernizing the aging applications onto a current, secure technology stack and consolidating several separate business applications as modules within a central application (ECP).
Challenges
- The applications ran on legacy systems with numerous integration points. Furthermore, some architectural direction on the client side was still undefined at the outset. As a result, this required Theoris to lead in determining the right modernization approach.
- Several applications, each with distinct business functionality, all needed to be modernized onto a single consistent technology stack and aggregated cleanly into one central modular application.
- As the project progressed, priorities and requirements continued to evolve. This called for flexibility and close coordination to keep scope and timelines aligned.

- Theoris defined and led the technical approach, delivering a central application (ECP) designed to house modular functionality.
- Modernized multiple legacy applications into full-stack solutions built on Blazor, .NET, and Web APIs. Then, added them to the central application.
- Applied a blended Agile and Waterfall methodology to manage delivery across applications with differing requirements and dependencies.
Result
Theoris delivered a modern, full-stack architecture and a modular framework. This gave giving the client a consistent and more secure foundation for bringing its separate business applications onto a single platform.
